Our story so far
We've been around for a while now. Here's a rundown of our significant milestones...
Nov 2003
Early days
The initial spark came from two friends being made redundant at the same time and coming together to build websites for clients on a freelance basis.
July 2005
Our first brand
With the addition of a third partner to the team (Anna, Simon & Keith), we launched our first brand, and ASK 7 was born.
Jan 2007
Time to incorporate
Rapid early growth meant it was time to register as a Limited Company. The real journey starts here, as Net Direct UK Ltd is registered at companies house.
Feb 2007
Our first office
We moved in to our first office in the beautiful, leafy surrounds of Fairclough Hall Farm, in Halls Green.

A new name
A new creative strategy required a new name, and so thedcc was born (The Digital Communications Company).
Feb 2020
Moving in to town
A change of location, as we move into a new home on the historic Brand Street in central Hitchin - just in time for the COVID lockdowns!

250 domains
A huge milestone is achieved as we register our 250th domain name for our clients. That's a lot of websites!
Aug 2023
2000 trees planted
We plant trees for every website we build, and we plant even more at the end of the year to offset the emissions from the energy used by our servers hosting those sites.

Focus on Hitchin
More success leads to more innovation. Bringing us right up to date, with our current branding. The Hitchin Group is created, to allow different specialist sub-brands to focus on their niche services in the local area, such as Hitchin Digital and Hitchin IT.

Marking 18 years as a limited company, and over 21 years of building websites, we've come a long way! 🥳️ 🎉
